Chicago INDO-US Lions Continue 11 Years of Environmental Service with Illinois Youth

On October 25, 2025, the Chicago INDO-US Lions Club, in collaboration with LEU, the East Leyden Service Club, and the East Leyden Asian American Affinity Group, proudly organized an Environmental Community Service Project with Illinois youth from two participating schools.

The event, held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM in Franklin Park, IL (60131), brought together enthusiastic students and Lions members committed to protecting and beautifying their local environment.

Students arrived by school buses and were divided into small groups of 60 to carry out various community improvement activities.

Some teams cleaned the football field and nearby streets, especially areas where elderly residents live.

Others focused on school surroundings and recycling initiatives.

A special group revisited the planting site from last year, where they proudly added eight new plants to continue growing the green legacy.

Every student participated meaningfully — including special-needs youth, who helped with sorting and separating recyclables, ensuring that no one was left behind and everyone contributed to the community effort.

Supplies such as gloves, trash clippers, color-coded garbage bags, and small plants were provided by the organizers.

This event marked the 11th consecutive year of the Chicago INDO-US Lions’ dedicated environmental service with Illinois youth. Their efforts continue to instill values of teamwork, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship in the next generation.

A heartfelt thank you goes to all volunteers, participating schools, and community partners for their commitment to making a difference.
