Pakistani Hackers Target Indian Defence Websites Amid Rising Tensions

In the wake of the deadly Pahalgam terror attack, Pakistani hackers have launched cyber assaults on Indian defence websites, potentially compromising sensitive data, including defence personnel credentials. A group calling itself the Pakistan Cyber Force claimed to have hacked into the Military Engineer Services and the Manohar Parrikar Institute of Defence Studies and Analysis, allegedly stealing over 10GB of data. They also attempted to deface the Armoured Vehicle Nigam Limited website, which has since been taken offline for security audits.
Cybersecurity teams are on high alert, monitoring for further attacks possibly linked to Pakistan. The hacking spree comes as India blames Pakistan-based terror outfits for the Pahalgam massacre and ramps up diplomatic and security measures, including suspending the Indus Waters Treaty and visa services for Pakistani nationals.
India has vowed strong retaliation, while Pakistan continues to deny involvement, repeating demands for evidence — a familiar pattern after past attacks. The escalating situation has fueled fears of larger confrontations both on the ground and in cyberspace
