New York Hosts 'Festival of Bliss'

In an effort to bring attention to its global humanitarian work and its most current endeavour in the tri-state area, the Connecticut-based Ananda Marga Wellness and Meditation Centre hosted a musical event on April 21, 2024. The auditorium at the Flushing Community Centre in New York State was the site of the event. A cultural evening featuring numerous performances of dance and music from various countries was held at the "Festival of Bliss" and was attended by attendees from multiple states. Recently, AMWMC—a Connecticut-based yoga, meditation, and culture center—bought around 100 acres of adjacent property.

Awardees for their contributions to society included Dr. Sudhir Parikh, chairman of Parikh Worldwide Media/ITV Gold and Padma Shri laureate; Dr. V.K. Raju, founder of the Eye Foundation of America; and philanthropist and chief executive officer of the Navika group of companies, Naveen Shah. As he bestowed the accolades upon Drs. Parikh and Raju and Shah, Acharya Abhirananda spoke highly of them. 

Ananda Marga has launched a fantastic endeavour, and I applaud her. As he accepted the trophy, Dr. Parikh made the statement that the recipients were serving "the whole humanity and humankind," not just the neighbourhood. He went on to say that Ananda Marga should feel free to use his media company's platform to advance their good causes, and that they were going to construct a massive, extremely expansive, state-of-the-art yoga centre to benefit the community and its health. As part of his remarks commemorating Ananda Marga's achievements, Dr. V.K. Raju praised the organization's charitable activities and community involvement.
