Jakarta, May 19
The Indonesian ambassador who was among those wounded in the crash of a military helicopter in Pakistan earlier this month, died on Tuesday in a Singapore hospital, Indonesian President Joko Widodo said.

Ambassador Burhan Muhmmad, 58, died while undergoing treatment in the Singapore General Hospital since May 12, said Widodo, making him the third foreign envoy killed in the accident, Xinhua reported.

Widodo extended heartfelt condolences to the ambassador's family and relatives.

"I deeply mourn (the death). Hopefully the family members can be strong to face this," he said before a cabinet meeting at the State Palace.

Earlier, Ambassador Burhan Muhmmad's wife Hery Listyawati died. She was among the people on board when the chopper went down in mountainous Gilgit-Balkistan of Pakistan on May 8.

Burhan Muhmmad suffered serious burns almost all over his body after the crash.

The ambassadors of Norway and the Philippines died in the crash.
