IOCUSA Vice-Chair George Abraham congratulates ISRO scientists for the historical landing of Chandrayaan -3
'India has made tremendous strides in space exploration by landing the Chandrayaan-3 on the Moon's south pole. It is a remarkable achievement for the scientific community in India that makes the whole nation proud of this pioneering effort. We also owe a debt of gratitude to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who started the Chandrayan program, and the current government that has taken the program forward," said George Abraham, Vice-Chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress, USA.
India's space journey began on February 23, 1962, with the formation of INCOSPAR (Indian National Committee for Space Research), thanks to the vision of Homi Bhabha and Vikram Sarabhai with the crucial support and guidance by Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime Minister of India. INCOSPAR was later renamed to ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) in 1969.
IOCUSA congratulates all scientists, technical staff, and others for their dedicated effort that has made history today.
