Rahul meets Modi seeking loan waiver for farmers

New Delhi, Dec 16 Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Friday led a party delegation that met Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking waiver of loans to farmers.
Gandhi along with senior party leaders, including Punjab unit chief Captain Amarinder Singh and Leader of Congress in the Lok Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, raised the issue of farmers and their suicides nationwide.
"Farmers are committing suicide across the country. Every single day a farmer is committing suicide in Punjab. We met the Prime Minister seeking thir loans to be waived off," said Gandhi after the meet.
"We also raised the issue of the government waiving the import duty on wheat, which has had a devastating effect on farmers," added Gandhi.
