Sensex closes 109 points down
Mumbai: A benchmark index of the Indian equities markets, the 30-scrip BSE Sensitive Index (Sensex), provisionally closed Monday's trade 108.85 points or 0.40 percent down.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) also provisionally closed 34.90 points or 0.42 percent in the red at 8,260.55 points.
The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,575.04 points, provisionally closed at 27,361.96 points (at 3.49 p.m.), down 108.85 points or 0.40 percent from the previous day's close at 27,470.81 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,618.14 points and a low of 27,318.20 points in the intra-day trade.
