House of Representatives Honored Dr. Sumul N. Raval as part of 'Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month'.Through groundbreaking advancements in brain tumor treatment and deeply compassionate patient care, Dr. Raval is transforming the field of neuro-oncology. 

He is notably the first Gujarati neuro-oncologist in the world and the founder of New Jersey’s first comprehensive brain tumor center at Monmouth Medical Center. He is also widely respected for bringing academic-level neuro-oncology expertise to community hospitals. 

A fellowship-trained specialist from the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Dr. Raval has led numerous pivotal clinical trials, including the FDA-approved combination of Avastin® and irinotecan for glioblastoma. His research has been presented at prestigious platforms such as the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Society for Neuro-Oncology.

 Dr. Raval’s humanitarian work has earned him several accolades, including the GBM Heroes Award from CURE® Magazine and multiple recognitions as a Jersey Choice Top Doctor. 

He currently serves as Chairman of the Department of Neurology at Community Medical Center and is the head of Garden State Neurology & Neuro-Oncology.
