Maryland Lt. Gov. Aruna Miller Showcases Infrastructure, Key Bridge Recovery at New York City Summit

Maryland Lieutenant Governor Aruna K. Miller spoke at the Transforming Infrastructure Performance (TIP) Summit in New York City, where she highlighted how Maryland’s data- and technology-driven response to the Key Bridge tragedy expedited recovery efforts.

Lt. Governor Miller joined a special live episode of The Infrastructure Podcast at the Summit, hosted by Antony Oliver. Drawing on her background as a transportation engineer, she shared how her dual experience in policy and infrastructure shaped her perspective on the human impact of the Key Bridge tragedy and the value of community-driven recovery. She highlighted the coordinated efforts of federal, state, and local governments to fast-track recovery and begin rebuilding this vital infrastructure, and offered insights into how the state supported victims' families and affected port workers.

“Great infrastructure isn’t just built with concrete—it’s built with purpose,” said Lt. Governor Miller. “It’s how we connect, protect, and empower communities to thrive. That’s been our focus in Maryland—especially through our Key Bridge recovery efforts.”

The TIP Summit series is a global gathering of policymakers, engineers, and infrastructure experts, led by Bentley Systems, Incorporated’s Infrastructure Policy Advancement group to drive collaboration in policy, innovation, and performance on a global scale. The TIP NYC Summit was hosted in partnership with the British Consulate General New York, IBM, Sidewalk Infrastructure Partners, the Women in Infrastructure Network, and United for Infrastructure.
