John Brittas to become CPM's leader in the Rajya Sabha.

John Brittas MP has been elected as the CPM's leader in the Rajya Sabha. He was nominated by the CPM central leadership following the resignation of Advocate Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya from Bengal. Brittas, an MP from Kerala, will now lead the party in the Upper House.
He is a member of the Parliament’s Standing Committee on External Affairs, the Committee on Public Undertakings, and the Advisory Committee for the Information Technology Department. Known for his impactful interventions in the Rajya Sabha, Brittas has won the award for Best Parliamentarian twice. His maiden speech in the House, focusing on the functioning of the Indian judiciary, earned praise from then Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu.
A special invitee to the CPM central committee, he has also proven his excellence as a media professional. John Brittas serves as the Managing Director and Chief Editor of Kairali TV network. He was elected to the Rajya Sabha in April 2021 and has previously served as an advisor to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
