In the cocaine case involving actor Shine Tom Chacko, the court observed that there were lapses in the police investigation. The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court noted that the police failed to complete the investigation in accordance with proper procedures.
These criticisms were mentioned in the court’s judgment that acquitted Shine Tom Chacko. The court pointed out that the police did not investigate whether Shine and the other four accused had actually used cocaine. It also noted that there was no detailed analysis to identify the components of the cocaine. Additionally, the court highlighted a lapse in procedure during the body search of the first accused, a model, as there was no female gazetted officer present at the time.
