Elephant Runs Amok During Thiruvalla Sreevallabha Temple Festival; Three Injured
An elephant brought for the festival at Thiruvalla Sreevallabha Temple ran amok, injuring three people. The injured have been identified as temple priests Anoop and Sreekumar, and a balloon vendor named Murukan.
As soon as the elephant became uncontrollable, the temple authorities evacuated people and closed the gates.
The incident occurred during the Sheeveli ritual. The enraged elephant attacked another elephant, injuring it. The elephant that ran amok was Venattumittam Unnikuttan, which attacked Jayaraj from behind. Eventually, both elephants were restrained.
