Venjaramoodu Mass Murder Case: Accused Afan’s father, Abdurahim, returns home
Abdurahim, the father of Afan, the accused in the Venjaramoodu mass murder case, has returned home. He arrived at Thiruvananthapuram airport today at around 7:30 AM on an Air India Express flight from Dammam. Financial difficulties and the lack of proper travel documents had delayed his return. However, with the intervention of a social worker, he was finally able to travel back.
Abdurahim’s return home is filled with sorrow. After seven years, he is coming back to an empty house—his mother, son, brother, and sister were all killed by his own son. His wife, a victim of their son’s brutality, is still in the hospital. Meanwhile, the elder son, who was supposed to be his support, is now in police custody for the murders. For any expatriate, this is the kind of return they would never wish for.
Abdurahim had been unable to come back earlier due to financial struggles and debts. After years of hardship, his return to Kerala is nothing but heartbreaking.
