European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen arrives in Delhi for a two-day visit. She is accompanied by the European Union College of Commissioners for this visit to India. During her visit, Ursula von der Leyen described India as a trusted friend and a strategically important ally of Europe.
The European Commission President will meet Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to discuss ways to further enhance the strategic partnership between India and the European Union. The visit will also include the second ministerial meeting of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council, along with several other bilateral ministerial meetings.
"In this era of conflicts and intense competition, we need trusted friends. For Europe, India is such a friend and a strategic ally. I will be in India for two days to discuss with the Indian Prime Minister how we can take our strategic partnership to the next level," Ursula von der Leyen posted on her social media account.
Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, received the European Commission President at the airport.
