A Lawrence Bishnoi gang member was killed in an STF encounter; the deceased was a gangster leader with a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head.

In Lucknow, a shooter from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was killed in an encounter conducted by the Special Task Force (STF). The deceased was identified as Jitendra, also known as Jitu (42). A sharp shooter and gangster leader, he had a bounty of ₹1 lakh on his head. The encounter was carried out by STF units from Meerut and Noida under the Uttar Pradesh Police.

The gunfight between the STF and the gang took place on Wednesday in the Mundali police station area of Meerut. As Jitendra was shot and fell to the ground, his accomplices managed to escape from the scene. He was immediately taken to the hospital by the STF but succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

Jitendra, a resident of Siwan village in Jhajjar district, Haryana, was wanted in multiple cases across different states. The police had been searching for him in connection with a 2023 murder case in Ghaziabad. In 2016, he was sentenced to life imprisonment for a double murder in Jhajjar. However, after being released on parole in 2023, he went into hiding. Following this, the Uttar Pradesh Police announced a ₹1 lakh reward for his capture.
