Kerala Shaken by Mass Murder
A young man arrived at the Venjaramoodu police station in Thiruvananthapuram and confessed to killing six of his close relatives. The revelation was made by a 23-year-old named Afan. Reports indicate that he murdered six family members across three different houses. The police have confirmed the recovery of five bodies so far. Afan’s mother is in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. The victims include his own family members, his female friend, and other relatives.
According to his statement, he killed three people in Perumala, two in Chullalam, and one in Pangode. The victim in Pangode, an 88-year-old elderly woman, reportedly died from a head injury. The body of the suspect’s grandmother, Salmabeevi (88), has been recovered. His 13-year-old younger brother, Afsan, and his female friend, Fasana, were also found murdered. His mother, Shemi, sustained severe injuries and has been hospitalized.
The accused had been living abroad with his father and had recently returned on a visiting visa. His mother was undergoing cancer treatment. His younger brother, Afsan, was a ninth-grade student at a school in Venjaramoodu. After committing the murders, the accused allegedly opened a gas cylinder before heading to the police station to confess to the crime.
