Brutal murder over suspicion of informing the police about illegal liquor sales. Two young men were killed in Tamil Nadu for opposing illegal liquor sales. The horrific incident took place in Muttathu, Mayiladuthurai, Tamil Nadu. The victims were Hari Shakthi (20), an engineering student, and his friend Harish (25). Police have arrested three suspects in connection with the crime.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims were murdered on suspicion of informing the police about illegal liquor sales. One of the accused had previously been arrested for illegal liquor sales and was released on bail. The victims had earlier been involved in an argument with illegal liquor sellers. It is believed that, suspecting them of reporting the matter to the police, the accused killed them after being released on bail.
