Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the soldiers who attained martyrdom in the Pulwama terror attack six years ago. His response came through X. He stated that the supreme sacrifice made by the soldiers for the nation would be remembered for generations to come. The Pulwama attack took place on February 14, 2019.

"I bow in respect to the bravery of the soldiers who attained martyrdom in the Pulwama terror attack of 2019. Their love and sacrifice for the nation will never be forgotten by future generations," the Prime Minister wrote on X.

On this day six years ago, the soldiers were traveling from Jammu to Srinagar. During their journey, a terrorist drove a vehicle filled with explosives into the military convoy. The explosion that followed resulted in the loss of 40 soldiers' lives, while many others were injured.

Twelve days after the Pulwama attack, the Indian Army delivered a strong retaliation against Pakistan. In a swift operation, the Indian forces carried out an airstrike on terrorist training camps in Balakot, Pakistan, and successfully destroyed them.
