Coir Board Employee Who Filed Mental Harassment Complaint Passes Away

Jolly Madhu, a section officer at the Coir Board, has passed away. She was undergoing treatment at Amrita Hospital for cerebral hemorrhage. Jolly Madhu's family has raised allegations against the Kochi office authorities.

A widow and a cancer survivor, Jolly Madhu had only three years of service left. However, she was transferred to Andhra Pradesh as an alleged act of retaliation. The family claims that no consideration was given to her medical condition, which deeply affected her mentally. Following this distress, she suffered a cerebral hemorrhage.

Jolly had written letters to the Prime Minister’s Office and the President regarding workplace harassment. Her family alleges that she faced further retaliation for sending these complaints. They also claim that her salary and promotions were withheld.

Jolly had been receiving treatment at a private hospital in Kochi, where she was on ventilator support. So far, the Coir Board has not responded to the allegations.
