Narendra Modi's two-nation visit begins today; will attend the President's banquet; Trump-Modi meeting on Thursday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-nation visit begins today. Modi will visit countries including France and the United States. He is traveling to France to attend a summit taking place there. Modi will preside over the event alongside French President Emmanuel Macron. After the summit in France, he will depart for the United States.

Modi will leave from New Delhi this afternoon and reach Paris by evening. He will then attend the French President's banquet. U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang are also attending the summit. The summit is scheduled for February 11. The AI summit in Paris is a continuation of global forums held in the UK in 2023 and South Korea in 2024.

The U.S. visit will take place on February 11 and 12. Foreign Secretary Vikram Mishra stated in a press conference that Modi's visit would provide further momentum and direction to India-U.S. bilateral relations. He will meet with President Trump at the White House. It is expected that discussions between the Indian Prime Minister and the U.S. President will cover topics such as tariffs on Indian exports to the U.S.
