Sari Pulled, Private Parts Bitten; Religious Extremists Attack Idol of Goddess Saraswati in Bengal.

Religious Extremists Vandalize Saraswati Puja Mandap in West Bengal.

The incident took place in South 24 Parganas district, where a group of religious extremists attacked a mandap set up for Saraswati Puja.

The attack occurred in front of a temple under the jurisdiction of the Bishnupur police station. The extremists forcefully entered the mandap, which housed an idol of Goddess Saraswati draped in silk.

The attackers removed the sari from the idol, touched and bit its private parts, leaving visible bite marks. They then threw the idol to the ground and vandalized the puja materials.

Not stopping at this, the extremists also blocked the roads by piling up and burning bicycle tires, disrupting traffic. Vehicles were also targeted in the violence. Police later arrived and restored order.
