The Madhya Pradesh health department has reported that around 170 people suffered from food poisoning after consuming meals at a temple in Shivpuri district. The affected individuals belong to the Mamoni Kalagram Panchayat. Reports indicate that more than 60 people were admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

The Maha Annadanam (community feast) was organized at the temple on Saturday. Those who consumed the food later experienced symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and fever. Following this, they were admitted to the hospital, according to district health department official Sanjay Risheshwar.

Food samples have been collected for testing. Considering the seriousness of the situation, a six-member team of doctors has been deployed in the villages of Mamoni Kala, Ladipura, and Tarpanka Parba. The exact cause of the food poisoning will only be determined after the investigation report is released.
