A heartfelt note expressing the sorrow of a grandmother unable to be with her grandchildren on their first birthday has been widely shared on social media.

Uma Thomas's post is about not being able to participate in the birthday celebrations of her son’s children, Hazell and Evelyn. From her hospital room, Uma Thomas wished the little angels long life and happiness through a post on Facebook.

Uma Thomas's post:

Hazel, Evelyn...
My dear little angels, Today is the first birthday of Hazell and Evelyn. Since it’s their first birthday, we had made many plans weeks and months in advance to celebrate it in the most heartfelt way possible.
But God's will turned out to be something else.
Yet, I firmly believe that God saved me from such a big disaster because there are still certain missions left for me to accomplish.
The absence of P.T. is also another sorrowful aspect of this birthday.
If P.T. had been here, all four of us would have had to go to Kanjangad to celebrate the birthday together.
Even though your little smiles and laughter aren’t surrounding me on this birthday, you will always be in every corner of my heart. I pray to God that you receive all the happiness in the world.
On your joyful day today, the pain of not being able to be close to you is not small.
However, my prayers and blessings are reaching you from this hospital room.
May God bless you with all the happiness in the world, long life, and good health.
May you have a future where you can love and respect each other, live in harmony with nature and humanity.
Thanks to God, the giver of life.
We should pray that Achamma recovers quickly and that she will be able to see you, and that next year we can celebrate together.
Once again, birthday wishes to P.T., myself, Vishnu, Bindu, Vivek, and everyone.
