White House Highlights US-India Relationship as One of the World’s Most Vital

August 13 :
During her daily news conference on August 12, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reaffirmed President Joe Biden's dedication to enhancing the US-India partnership. Jean-Pierre emphasized the importance of this relationship while discussing the administration's plans for the next six months.

According to Jean-Pierre, the United States is eager to further strengthen its collaboration with this significant and vital organization so that it can continue to help the American people.

A more prosperous and secure Indo-Pacific and global environment will remain the administration's objective, she said, adding, "That is going to continue to be our focus as we move forward." The president's view of the US-India relationship was emphasized by Jean-Pierre, who dubbed it "one of the most consequential in the world." According to her, "We work closely with India on our most vital priorities, including through the Quad and the US-India initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology."

Vinay Mohan Kwatra, who is now serving as India's ambassador-designate to the US, arrived in Washington, D.C. earlier in the day. Kwatra, who was previously the Indian embassy's minister of commerce, is anticipated to offer his credentials to President Biden soon. Events in Bangladesh, a heated presidential campaign, and the United States' continued engagement in two global conflicts all occur at the same time as his arrival.

There will likely be high-level diplomatic interactions between the US and India in the next months, with cabinet-level officials from both countries expected to visit. Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi's June state visit to Washington and President Biden’s participation in the G20 meeting in India last September, the overall US-India relationship has grown significantly.
