Donald Trump to be Interviewed by Elon Musk Next Week
New York, August 7:
Trump, the former president of the United States, has confirmed that next week, Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO and entrepreneur, will interview him. The former president said on his Truth Social media account that he would be conducting a "major interview" with Elon Musk on Monday night. According to US outlets such as The Hill newspaper, Trump added, "Details to follow."
The Republican candidate for president was recently questioned at his Mar-a-Lago home by Adin Ross, who streams everything live. According to Trump, the interview with Ross was a major factor in "Kick" breaking its viewership record on the streaming site.
Following the attempted assassination of the former president in Pennsylvania last month, Donald Trump was praised by Musk, owner of the social media platform X. According to The New York Times, leader of social media platforms often keep a neutral stance, but this endorsement broke with that.
After the attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, the previous owner of Twitter (now X) permanently suspended Trump's account. But once Musk took over, the account was back up and running.
One source said that Musk—who is also the owner of SpaceX and Tesla—had promised USD 45 million monthly to a newly formed political action committee that supports Trump. Voter registration and outreach will be the America PAC's main priorities in their fight against the Democrats' usually powerful campaigns. Musk and Trump are set to meet soon after Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris chose Tim Walz, the governor of Minnesota, to be her running partner.
The Washington Post reported on August 4 that five state secretaries were planning to write an open letter to Musk on Monday, requesting that he "immediately implement changes" to X's AI chatbot Grok. The letter would be sent after Grok shared false information implying that Kamala Harris could not be on the ballot for the 2024 presidential election. The letter, which was written by state secretaries from Minnesota, Washington, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and New Mexico, urges Musk to make sure that voters have accurate information in this important election year. It was spearheaded by Minnesota's Steve Simon and signed by colleagues from Pennsylvania, Washington, Steve Hobbs, and Jocelyn Benson.
