US Flight Diverted for 'Deep Clean' After 'Biohazard' Scare Causes Crew Illness

New York City, July 29 :
After a customer caused crew members to vomit and other passengers to experience distress, a United Airlines aircraft from Houston to Boston was forced to divert to Washington DC due to a "biohazard" issue. According to the New York Post, which cited the airline, United Airlines Flight UA2477, a Boeing 737-800, was redirected to Dulles International Airport in Washington DC on July 28, instead of Boston, as it was operating from Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
A "deep clean" was necessary after the plane had to land at Dulles Airport in Washington DC, hence the journey had to be shortened, as stated by the airline.
A worrying situation was highlighted in the interaction between the captain and air traffic control while in the air. According to the crew I spoke with, the situation back there is dire. A crew member was heard saying, "The crew is vomiting, and passengers all around are asking for masks," in flight audio that was mentioned in the New York Post report.
None of the 155 passengers and six staff members needed medical assistance when the jet successfully landed at Washington Dulles Airport, according to the US publication . "The aircraft is currently undergoing a deep clean and we are working to get customers on their way to Boston soon," according to the airline.
