Indian-American Businessman Vinod Khosla and Musk Spar Over Next US President on X

July 22 :
Billionaire Elon Musk and notable Indian-American businessman Vinod Khosla got into a public verbal sparring session over who would be the future president of the United States within hours of US President Joe Biden deciding not to run against Republican opponent Donald Trump for reelection.
Musk retorted by telling Khosla to back Republican Donald Trump and J.D. Vance, in contrast to Khosla's proposal for a "open convention" so the Democrats might choose "a more moderate" candidate. This sparked the Trump argument on X (formerly Twitter).
A more moderate candidate who can easily defeat @realDonaldTrump should be nominated at an open convention, the Indian-American wrote on X after Biden's declaration. If America could be freed from the clutches of MAGA and DEI radicals, it would be greatly appreciated if @GovWhitmer and @GovernorShapiro would take the lead.
It is high time for Governor Whitmer, Governor Shapiro, Governor Andy Beshear, and Kamala Harris to confirm their candidacy without delay. The stakes are too high to not follow the correct procedure at the convention, which should include ranked choice voting.

"Come on, Vinod. Trump/Vance LFG!!" was the response from the CEO of X, Tesla, and SpaceX. The reason Khosla will never back Donald Trump—a Republican presidential contender who "lies, cheats, demeans women and hates immigrants"—was his reaction.
He may lower my taxes or loosen some regulations, but it doesn't give me license to accept his moral decay. Would you prefer a president whose first year in office will result in a tenfold setback for the climate? The question that Khosla asked Musk was if Musk wanted his children to follow his principles. I find it difficult to back someone who has no moral compass, who is dishonest, who assaults women, who degrades them, and who dislikes immigrants like me. Just because he lowers my taxes or loosens regulations doesn't mean I should tolerate his moral decay. Would you like a president that will take climate change backwards

Musk shot back by saying he knows Trump isn't perfect, but that his administration will stand for meritocracy and personal liberty regardless. Musk went on to say that Trump has no ill will toward Khosla, despite the fact that he is a well-known Democrat donor.
Get to know him and see for yourself. We need a government that is more likely to be meritocratic and prioritize individual liberties over overly repressive regulation," Musk responded, adding that he is not implying that Trump is perfect.
Nevertheless, Khosla remained steadfast and maintained that his support for Trump, who disdains climate initiatives and betrays his principles, cannot be sustained by meritocracy and individual liberties alone.
However, why not just ignore climate change and "drill, baby, drill?" Make America Great Again by disavowing NATO and the moral and political leadership of the United States. Khosla described himself as a former socially liberal registered fiscal Republican but became an independent after hearing Trump's promise to "drill oil" in the nation during his speech at the Republican National Convention (RNC).
Consensus exists that we should not put our faith in public news. Reach a consensus on meritocratic and advocate for personal liberty. "Drill, baby, drill"—quit worrying about the environment. Show your true colors and reject the United States' role as moral leader and NATO member. I shifted from being a socially liberal registered Republican to an economic conservative due to climate change.

Oil and gas are still essential to human civilization, Musk said in response. The sustainable fuel industry is booming, he added, and we shouldn't belittle a sector that's vital to human survival. This is in spite of Trump's policies.
Oil and gas will be necessary for human civilization for a long time. An enterprise that is vital to human survival shouldn't be vilified, in my opinion. But, as you are aware, the production and use of sustainable energy is expanding at a rapid pace and is on pace to surpass the use of... by Elon Musk According to Musk, the US pays "absurdly higher than other allies" to keep NATO running. "Why should the American people foot the bill for Europe's defense when that continent can certainly handle its own security needs?" he wonders. No word yet from Khosla on this tweet.
