Trump Presses on with Milwaukee Convention Despite Recent Assassination Attempt

July 15th, Washington, DC:
In spite of the latest assassination attempt, former US President Donald Trump was on Sunday his route to Milwaukee to attend the Republican National Convention.

Dan Scavino, an assistant to Trump, thanked Trump's followers for their support and well wishes on X while sharing a video of the president's motorcade at the airport. He is incredibly appreciative of everyone's prayers, support, and best wishes, as Scavino put it in his post. Get on your bike... and go to Wisconsin! On Saturday, while speaking at a rally in Pennsylvania, Trump was shot in the ear during an attempted assassination. Aides to Trump have said that the president is "doing well" and "looks forward" to the next GOP in Milwaukee.

Additionally, Trump verified on Truth Social that his trip to Milwaukee is proceeding according to plan. In light of yesterday's tragic events, I had planned to postpone my journey to Wisconsin and the Republican National Convention by two days. However, I have now resolved that I will not budge from my firm stance on the matter. So, I'll be heading out for Milwaukee today at 3:30 as planned. I appreciate it! "DJT," Trump remarked.

The remark from Wisconsin Republican Party Chairman Brian Schimming, who stated that the timetable of the Republican National Convention has not been significantly altered, is followed by Trump's post. On Saturday, while Trump was speaking at a campaign rally, the sound of gunfire was heard and Secret Service members rushed the stage. A 20-year-old man from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania named Thomas Matthew Crooks was named as the shooter by the FBI.

'Potential domestic terrorism' is the official designation under which the whole episode is being investigated by the FBI, according to Al Jazeera. During a press conference, FBI Special Agent Kevin Rojek identified the firearm utilized in the attempted assassination of President Trump as a legally obtained "AR-style 556 rifle." The shooter's father likely bought the semiautomatic weapon, but the FBI claimed they still don't know how the shooter got his hands on it or if he stole it from him.

The Milwaukee-based FBI special agent overseeing the Republican National Convention stated that the security plan is unchanged and that the agency is "confident in the security plans." The convention is set to start on Monday. The FBI was "fully prepared" for the occurrence, according to Michael Hensle.

After the incident at Trump's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, Governor Josh Shapiro condemned the violence and emphasized that political differences should never be resolved violently. We should resolve our differences through a civilized political process, although disagreements are acceptable. "This is a moment where all leaders have a responsibility to speak and act with moral clarity, where all leaders need to take down the temperature, rise above the hateful rhetoric that exists and search for a better, brighter future for this nation," said Mr. Trump.
