Trump Rally Shooting: Victim's Final Act Was to Protect Family from Bullets

July 15 :
On July 14, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced that a 50-year-old volunteer firefighter had protected his family from the gunfire that rocked former President Donald Trump's rally in the state on Saturday. Corey Comperatore was named as the victim in a Facebook post by his relatives.

Corey Comperatore, my brother, was killed at the PA Trump Rally. We lost the one man we loved the most because of the hatred of one individual," the victim's sister wrote in the July 14 post. According to a report in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Comperatore has prior experience as the chief of the BTVFD.

Shapiro informed the press that he had communicated with Comperatore's relatives and had delivered some of their messages. Corey surrendered valiantly. Last night during this rally, Corey dove on top of his family to defend them, according to Shapiro. "Corey was the very best of us."

A wife and two daughters were left behind by the comperatore. "Corey was a girl dad," Shapiro told the reporter. As Shapiro mentioned, Corey worked as a firefighter. Corey was a regular churchgoer. The people of his neighborhood and, above all else, his family were very important to Corey.

As far as Shapiro could tell, the victim was a die-hard fan of the late president. As soon as Trump started speaking at the Pennsylvania rally, gunfire broke out, and it was later revealed that he had been wounded as well; a bullet had grazed his right ear.

Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, has been named as the suspect in the incident that the government is describing as an attempt on Trump's assassination, according to the FBI.
