Ex-Diplomat Warns of US Political Polarization; Biden Fears 'Trump Tsunami

July 15, New Delhi :
The political climate in the United States is extremely polarized right now, and the people who want Joe Biden to be president again are afraid that the Democrats would lose in a "Trump Tsunami," as former diplomat KP Fabian put it.
While Republicans have nominated former president Donald Trump for the upcoming presidential elections, Fabian has brought attention to the concerns voiced by the Biden camp on the possibility of the Democrats losing control of the Senate, the House of Representatives, the White House, and even several governorships.
Following the latest assault on Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania, Fabian said, "We should also recognise that there has been much toxic polarisation." Stop your political opponent before he destroys the United States; it's one thing to criticize him, but quite another to really say it. That is the stance that Biden has taken up until this point. Plus, no one else can rescue the United States except me. Although it is somewhat late, we should all be grateful that he said it, as I mentioned before," stated Fabian, who was a member of the Indian Foreign Service from 1964 to 2000.
The recent attempt on Trump's life at a campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, adds to the already high level of political unpredictability, which Fabian has spoken about. A fatality and other serious injuries among the attendees prompted a rapid reaction from the police.
After the assault on Trump, the Republican candidate was encircled by Secret Service officials, who led him off the platform as his face was covered in blood. Police officers were leading him away as he pumped his fist at the onlookers. The bullet went through the top portion of Donald Trump's ear, according to his later statements.
Quickly denouncing the attack, President Biden urged Americans to peacefully address their disagreements. Biden proclaimed, "In America, we resolve our differences at the ballot box and not with bullets," urging the nation to come together and exercise restraint.
The broader consequences of such acts on the impending elections were pointed out by Ambassador Fabian. For the time being, it appears that this will provide Trump with a significant electoral advantage. Even within his party, Biden is facing problems. Plus, that problem seems like it's not going away anytime soon.
Fabian made the observation that Biden and the Democrats are very frightened about a possible "Trump tsunami," adding, "The Democrats are worried not only that they will lose the White House, but they are worried that they will lose the Senate and even the House of Representatives and some governorships." To avoid a Trump tsunami, then, is their goal.
A Trump victory would hit like a tsunami, you know. According to Fabian, a former Indian ambassador to Qatar, it is precisely their goal in trying to avoid it. American voters, according to Fabian, have less options than those in democracies like Iran, where they can choose between conservatives and liberals.
"When it comes to a presidential election, if I am an American, do I have a real choice between Trump and Biden?," inquired the former ambassador. Fabian warned against bias or meddling from outside sources in light of global viewpoints. "The incident has been denounced by Prime Minister Modi. The head of the opposing party has spoken out against it. Doing that is the right thing to do. But when it comes to the election, we shouldn't pick a side, Fabian said, emphasizing the need for diplomatic neutrality.
