Association of Indians in America (AIA) Awards Excellence to Indian-American Physician

June 4 :
On June 3, the Association of Indians in America (AIA) presented an award to five individuals of Indian descent, including Dr. Rekha Bhandari, an Indian-American popular general practitioner in New York. One of the first national organisations in the United States that serves individuals of Indian descent is the AIA chapter in New York. The group's "Excellence in Healthcare Administration" accolade went to Dr. Bhandari.

AIA is among the most venerable groups that have ever stood as a symbol of India. This is an incredible honour, and I accept it with humility, Dr. Bhandari informed the American community. Previous recipients have included numerous Nobel laureates. Guests from upstate New York, neighbouring states, and the tri-state area of New York gathered for the joyous occasion. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer was the honoured guest during the award event.

Dr. Rekha Bhandari founded "Infinite Medical Group" and "ReNew Wound Care," is the chief medical officer of MedElite Group, and is an innovator in the healthcare industry. The National Ethnic Coalition of Organisations (NECO) presented her with the esteemed Ellis Island Medal of Honour in 2016. The award has been given annually since NECO was founded in 1986.
