Americans Could Reach Tipping Point if He Is Imprisoned, Warns Trump

WASHINGTON , June 3 :
Following his historic conviction by a New York jury last week, Donald Trump stated that he would be willing to face either home confinement or jail time, although he acknowledged that the public would find it difficult to accept.
The Republican presidential contender expressed his doubts about the public's support in an interview that aired on Fox News on June 2. I don't think the general population would be able to handle it. You know, there comes a time when everything becomes too much.
Trump remained mum when asked what he thinks may happen at that time. On July 11, only four days before Republicans officially select their presidential candidate to challenge Joe Biden in November's election, sentencing is set to take place.
Lara Trump, co-chair of the Republican National Committee, told CNN that Trump's followers would do what they have always done—remain calm and protest at the vote box on November 5—if he were imprisoned. Speak up against this with all the authority you have; there is no other choice.
Though he has increased fundraising efforts in light of his conviction, Trump has not made any other efforts to rally his fans, in contrast to his remarks criticising his 2020 defeat to Biden, which led to an assault on the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, by his supporters.
Reuters was unable to independently confirm the figure that Lara Trump said the RNC and Trump campaign raised $70 million in the 48 hours following the ruling. She refused to divulge the exact amount when asked about the allocation of funds between campaign operations and legal fees.
On Sunday, at least one Democrat in Congress voiced worry that Trump's base may retaliate violently in the event of his conviction. "He has an ear in his base. Lara Trump is unheard by them. And this is just another harmful call to violence," Democratic U.S. Representative Adam Schiff told.
Any response, however, must be lawful, according to Trump friend and U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson. Conservatives love order and law, and we are the party that stands for it. It is imperative that we resist, and we shall do so using all means at our disposal. While doing so, we adhere to all applicable laws, Johnson stated on "Fox News Sunday."
A New York jury convicted Trump guilty on 34 felony counts of using false paperwork to conceal a payment to silence a porn star in the run-up to the 2016 election. Trump has promised to appeal the verdict.
No resolution is likely to come before the November presidential election, when he will attempt to unseat Biden from the Oval Office. His conviction may affect him with some Republican and independent voters, according to opinion surveys, which show that the two candidates are in a close race.
According to Trump's lawyer Will Scharf, it is unlikely to "end up being subject to any sentence whatsoever" and has every intention of bringing the matter to the Supreme Court.
The three further criminal charges against Trump are unlikely to go to trial before the election, but they are still pending. He has characterised the accusations as an attempt by the Democrats to exclude him from running for office, and he has denied guilt in every case. At the same time, Biden has tried to defend American justice by stating that accusations of a "rigged" verdict are "reckless" and "dangerous." Any political intervention is denied by the U.S. Justice Department.
