Biden Calls Trump's 'Rigged Trial' Claim 'Dangerous' and 'Reckless'

June 1 :
U.S. President Joe Biden has spoken out against former President Donald Trump's claims of a rigged trial, which led to his conviction on all thirty-four counts, in a statement made in Washington, DC, on June 1. As Biden underlined the importance of "no one is above the law" as an American value, he brought attention to the lengthy legal procedure that Trump went through, including his hearing before a jury of twelve individuals.
No one is immune to the rule of law, an enduring American ideal, was restated. Every chance for Donald Trump to explain himself was given to him. That case did not involve the federal government; rather, it was in the state. Twelve Americans, just like you and millions of others who have served on juries, heard it. The selection process for this jury is identical to that of all American juries. The lawyer for Donald Trump was involved in the procedure. Biden stated in a speech delivered from the Oval Office that the jury had heard evidence for five weeks.
Additionally, Biden warned against destroying the legitimacy of the court system just because one disagrees with the decision, describing Trump's assertions as "irresponsible," "dangerous," and "reckless." A unanimous judgement was obtained by the jury after lengthy discussion. Accusations of election fraud, the US president added, "are reckless, dangerous, and irresponsible" because they were levelled against Donald Trump on all thirty-four charges.
Biden's comments follow Trump's criticism of the hush money trial, which resulted in his conviction on 34 felony charges of falsifying company records, as being "very unfair" the day before. "Regarding the trial itself, it was very unfair," Trump told reporters from Trump Tower in Manhattan. No matter what, we couldn't bring in our election expert. You witnessed firsthand how this man crucified some of the witnesses who were on our side.
“He looks like an angel, but he’s really a devil,” Trump continued, slamming the judge. His appearance is warm and gentle. This is not the case until you witnessed him in action. And you seen it with one witness who went through the fires," CNN said. He made the following statement in response to the court's decision: "The people of our country know it's a hoax, they know it's a hoax, they get it." In his opinion, they are exceptionally bright, he added. This is a serious matter, and we will be appealing the swindle.
In a case that originated from a criminal trial in New York involving hush money that hushed a porn star, a Manhattan jury found Donald Trump guilty on 34 felony charges of altering company documents on Thursday, according to CNN. With this conviction, Trump becomes the first sitting US president to face a criminal conviction. As part of their case against Trump, prosecutors said he was part of a criminal conspiracy to obstruct the 2016 election and censor bad news. An adult film star's hush money was the central element of the case.
The president strongly condemned the trial after the verdict, calling it a "disgrace" and accusing it of being "rigged." Nothing that we did was incorrect. As Trump exited the courtroom in displeasure, he proclaimed, "I'm a very innocent man.
Trump insisted he was innocent and used the impending election as a yardstick for public sentiment on the subject, even though he was found guilty. "The real verdict is going to be on November 5 by the people," said the president. As part of his unfounded critique, Trump levelled accusations of bias at the Biden administration and the Manhattan district attorney. In addition, Trump claimed that the Biden administration and the Manhattan district attorney had an influence in the case and criticised them.
Separately, Trump's legal team announced their intention to appeal the conviction. However, on July 11, sentencing will go place after Judge Juan Merchan rejected Trump's request for acquittal. Claims pertaining to Stormy Daniels' alleged involvement in a hush-money scam were at the heart of the trial. Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts by the jury for his role in this fraud involving the falsification of corporate records.
