GOP Opponent Too Unfocused to Govern, Says Ashwin Ramaswami

May 31 :
Accusing Republican opponent Shawn Still of being preoccupied with legal processes related to his involvement in seeking to reverse the 2020 election results alongside Donald Trump, Ashwin Ramaswami, the newly nominated Democrat for Georgia State Senate District 48, made the accusation.
Outside of the Fulton County Superior Court, Ramaswami made an appearance as the trial hearing continued on May 29. According to Ramaswami, Shawn Still is "too distracted to govern" since he will be facing criminal charges during the summer instead of focusing on serving his citizens and addressing important issues.
"The indictment centres around the fake electors' meeting on December 14, 2020, which lasted approximately 26 minutes," Ramaswami stated, quoting Shawn Still's own counsel. "The amount of time it takes to complete a crime is irrelevant—Shannon Still must be held responsible for his effort to reverse the 2020 election results."
Voters may hold the Jan. 6 perpetrators accountable, according to Ramaswami, by casting their ballots in the November election. "The actions of Shawn Still as a false elector are just one more disturbing example of how all Georgians are having their voices and votes suppressed,"
After earning degrees in computer science and law from Georgetown and Stanford, Ramaswami entered the legal profession. He ran for office to make sure lawmakers listen to their constituents and address their concerns after spending his post-college years working for the federal government on election security. Full financing of public schools, universal healthcare, and affordable housing are among his top concerns, as is working to create a future economy that benefits everyone.
