Mike Johnson Endorses India-Born American Doctor Running for Congress in Kansas

May 31 :
Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson has backed Dr. Prasanth Reddy, an American citizen born in India, for the 3rd Congressional District of Kansas. Reddy came to the United States from Chennai when he was a young man and is now a lieutenant colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve.
I have spent my life attempting to repay the nation that welcomed me with open arms after I realised the American dream as an immigrant. "I have always sought out trouble," Reddy stated. From my time spent helping cancer patients to my role as a citizen and Air Force Reserve officer following 9/11, I've always aimed to contribute to finding a solution.
Voters in Kansas' 3rd Congressional District are leaning Republican and show significant support for Reddy, according to a recent poll by WPA Intelligence. According to the poll, Reddy has a 13-point lead over his opponent among unaffiliated voters; 50% of these people support him, while 37% back his opponent. In addition, there is a net margin of 5 points favouring Reddy over his opponents among men with college degrees, who make up a large component of the electorate. The percentage is 47% for Reddy and 42% for his opponents.
Sharice Davids, a Democrat, has been elected to three consecutive terms since 2018 and is presently serving in the Kansas seat.
Internal medicine, medical oncology, and haematology are the three subspecialties in which Reddy has earned triple board certification. He has been a cancer specialist for over ten years, mostly in the Kansas City area, where he has worked in both public and private practice, as well as in academic institutions and hospitals.
In pursuit of his medical degree (M.D.), Reddy attended the University of Kansas Medical School after completing his undergraduate studies in Microbiology and Psychology at Kansas State University. Under the auspices of the NIH Clinical Research Curriculum Award Programme, he continued his studies at the University of Kansas, where he received his M.P.H.
