Star Awards Unveiled in Chicago as Federation of Indian Associations Honours Underappreciated Women

An event honouring mothers was held on May 19 at Ashyana Banquets in Downers Grove by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA) Chicago and Desi Junction. The ceremony unveiled the esteemed "Star Awards" programme and celebrated mothers, the true unsung heroes, for their love and fortitude. Music, speeches, and recognition filled the evening's programme after a lively social hour. The crowd was enthralled by the enchanting Bollywood tunes performed by Payel Ganguly & Group, which celebrated mom and families.

Sunil Shah, chairperson and founder of the FIA, together with vice-chairman Neil Khot, president Pratibha Jairath, and former president Vinita Gulabani, all took the stage to address the audience. Gulabani illuminated FIA's community outreach initiatives, Khot hinted at impending surprises, Jairath stressed the significance of Mother's Day, and Shah highlighted FIA's accomplishments. Speakers at the occasion, including Somnath Ghosh, Consulate General of India, and Raja Krishnamoorthy, US Congressman, spoke movingly about the impact mothers have on society.

Anandita Ghosh, Riya Krishnamoorthy, and Dr. Kruti Vyas were among the exceptional mothers recognised at the Mother's Day awards event, which was the evening's high point.

A touching tribute to moms was performed by Rita Shah, the esteemed First Lady of the FIA, who gave a personal touch. Spectacular dance acts and a vibrant open dance floor added even more vibrancy to the evening.

An important turning point was reached with the ceremonial presentation of the 'Star Awards' trophy. With categories such as Community Leader of the Year, Best Medical Professional, and Entrepreneur of the Decade, this esteemed programme will honour the accomplishments and brilliance of the Indian community. In a spectacular red-carpet event that will take place on August 16 at the Matrix Club, the Star Awards will celebrate India's 78th Independence Day with style, ethnic diversity, and a dash of magic.
