As part of AANHPI Heritage Month, Congressman Krishnamoorthi was honoured for his service to the nation.

In honour of Asian American Native Hawaiian Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month, ABC7 Chicago honoured Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) last week as one of many notable Chicagoans highlighted by the station.

The House Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is headed by Rep. Krishnamoorthi, who made history last year as the first Asian American to hold that position.

The House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence are two other committees that Krishnamoorthi serves on, in addition to his position as Ranking Member of the Select Committee. Along with the other four Indian Americans in Congress, he is a part of the informal Samosa Caucus.
