The Greater New York Chamber of Commerce held an award banquet to recognise AAPI community members who had become prominent figures in trade and commerce. A successful 22nd annual World Trade Week Award Reception co-occurred with the event.
The award ceremony took place at the Manhattan headquarters of the Korean-American Association of Greater New York, which was a joint venture with the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, the Apan Foundation, and the other hosts.
Among the honorees were Edward Mermelstein, the Commissioner for International Affairs of New York City, and Danielle M. Outlaw, Deputy Chief Security Officer of the Port Authority of NY and NJ. The two dignitaries' contributions to fostering global trade and economic growth were widely lauded.
President and CEO Mark Jaffe of GNYCC was also honoured with the US President's Lifetime Volunteer Service Award.
Foreign diplomats, consuls, business moguls, and government officials from all over the world gathered to assess the status of international trade and brainstorm ways to improve it. According to Amit Pratap Shah, the program's chair, this event honoured the forefathers of global trade while also creating chances for networking and collaboration, both of which are crucial to economic success.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed by the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce and the Indian American International Chamber of Commerce during World Trade Week in NYC. More relationships and collaboration in international trade were solidified with the signing of an additional memorandum of understanding with Mark Jaffe, president of the Greater New York Chamber of Commerce.
