Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America's Ram Rath Yatra Concludes in Sugar Grove

On May 26, near Sugar Grove, Illinois, the Ram Rath—the chariot bearing the idol of Lord Ram—returned after a 65-day journey through 49 states and 27,000 miles, during which it visited 850 Hindu temples. About 200 individuals from various Chicago suburbs showed out to the event, which was hosted by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad of America (VHPA).

In his speech, Sanjay Mehta, secretary of the VHPA advisory board, emphasised the philosophy of "Dharmo Rakshti Rakshita," which means that people should strive to safeguard themselves by doing their duty before looking to God to accomplish it. Inaugurated on January 22, the VHPA Ram Rath Yatra event commemorates the occasion of the Ram Mandir's inauguration in Ayodhya.
