Tragic collision in Georgia claims the lives of three Indian-American teenagers

According to a statement from the Alpharetta Police Department, three Indian-American teenagers, all aged 18, were killed in a car accident that occurred in Alpharetta, Georgia, on May 14. The incident occurred on Westside Parkway, north of Maxwell Road, and involved one vehicle. Officers were dispatched to the scene at around 7:55 p.m. on May 14, 2014. There were five people in the car at the time of the incident who were 18 years old, according to the statement from the Traffic Enforcement Unit, who arrived at the scene and performed an initial investigation.
At least three people were sent to North Fulton Hospital for treatment, but two people—Aryan Joshi and Sriya Avasarala—were discovered dead at the site.
According to the police statement, Avi Sharma, who was riding vehicle was one of the other victims who passed away after suffering injuries. While authorities are still looking into the crash, they believe that speeding was a major contributing factor.
While we still don't know much about what caused the incident, preliminary evidence suggests that speed was a contributing role. "No further information is available for release at this time," the message said. Authorities have named the two injured passengers as Mohammed Lyakath, a senior at Alpharetta High School, and Rithwak Somepalli, a student and driver at Georgia State University.
