Wisconsin congressional candidate highlights Hindu heritage, declares candidature

May 11 :
Community organiser and leader Purnima Nath identified herself a "Hindu Indian American." On May 7, 2024, she announced her candidature for the United States Congress from Wisconsin's District 4. Nath must first secure the Republican Party's support in the primaries on August 13th.
A group of Islamo-Marxists occupies the left, while a group led by Christianity occupies the right. There is obviously no room for Hindus in the middle," Nath continued. On top of that, Hindus should carve out a place for fellow Hindus. Despite our pride in being "American first," we must never compromise our beliefs. "I am a Republican with a strong conservative streak, and my belief is in a higher power," Nath continued.
In a press release she sent on May 7, Nath requested "blessing, support and love" for her upcoming endeavour.
Given my humble beginnings and limited resources, I am unconcerned about the potential consequences of continuing my advocacy work. However, she assures us that this will be just as exciting as everything else that her deity, Shiva, has permitted her to go through thus far.
At the top of her list is "National Security, Border Security, Legal Immigration, Education, Economy."
According to Nath's press release, she expresses her deep devotion to community service, her inspiration from the world's oldest living civilization, Hindu dharma, and her belief in the importance of a safer community, equal opportunity for all, and growth-focused education. Her life's work is focused on raising awareness about important issues and building a stronger society based on these shared principles and values.
She went on to say that she is "dedicated to advocating true "diversity" and "compassion" (rather than the liberal-left's watered-down version of diversity and misplaced compassion that's circulating these days), and that she is working to improve ties between the United States and India. She is also pushing for the union of the world's two biggest democracies, with the goal of creating a better society that benefits everyone.
A Democrat named Gwen Moore was elected to represent District 4 in 2004 and has been in office since January 2005. Based on data provided by Ballotpedia, the lone Republican candidate for the August 13 primaries is Tim Rogers, who lost badly to Moore in 2022. Nath has not been included to the list of contenders yet.
In the 2022 Republican primary, Nath faced off against another GOP challenger Travis Clark, and Rogers won more than 74% of the vote. Nath will face a formidable challenge in winning over Rogers' base of support if he wants to claim the Republican nomination.
Politics and political correctness, according to Nath's press release, are "dangerous for ordinary citizens," and the country needs to get back to basics like affordable, safe transportation, and high-quality education "free from political agendas."
As a management consultant for MNCs, Nath has a background in engineering and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Business. She founded the non-profit Spindle India, Inc. and produced the well-attended IndiaFest Wisconsin, two events that celebrate ethnic diversity.
