April 23 :
Tragically, two 19-year-old Indian students, Goutham Parsi and Nivesh Mukka, lost their lives in a head-on car crash close to Arizona State University's Lake Pleasant. The individuals involved in the collision between a red Ford F150 and a white Kia Forte on Castle Hot Springs Road are now being investigated by the Peoria Police Department. Authorities on campus and in the surrounding community are rallying around students and faculty who have been impacted by the tragedy.

An ASU official stated that the International Students and Scholars Centre is collaborating with the Dean of Students, counselling services, and housing personnel to help students find support networks among their peers.

The tragic head-on collision occurred in the late afternoon of April 20. The police were called to a collision on Castle Hot Springs Road, which is just north of State Route 74, at approximately 6:18 PM. The collision involved many vehicles, including a head-on collision between a white 2024 Kia Forte and a red 2022 Ford F150.

The white Kia Forte was going north on Castle Hot Springs Road, and the driver of the red F150 was going south, according to preliminary investigations. Police said in a statement that they are currently investigating the collision's cause.

There was just one person in the red F150 when it crashed. Despite suffering critical injuries, the individual was subsequently discharged from the hospital after being evacuated. It was a white Kia Forte with three people inside. Despite sustaining life-threatening injuries, the motorist was later discharged from a nearby hospital. "The two other occupants succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident," it stated. The individuals in question have been named by the authorities as Goutham Parsi, 19, and Nivesh Mukka, 19, both of whom are from India.
