Real L.i.F.e Impacts on recent Immigration proclamation & the IT Service Memo - FOMAA L.i.F.e organized Facebook Live with Esq. Stephanie Scarborough.
FOMAA L.i.F.e on Wednesday, June 24th organized this conversation that was well attended by the afflicted from across the globe.
The initiative was so helpful to the skilled immigrants who are in the peril of being separated from their own families in the USA, imperiled otherwise due to the COVID-19 caused travel uncertainties. Esq. Scarborough enabled the attendees to obtain insights to mitigate their circumstances with the recent Executive Order (EO) on immigration. This suspension of documented immigration primarily people who have traveled outside the USA for family emergencies or business reasons. They will not be able to reunite with families back in the USA until December 2020 is a takeaway of this Executive Order.
Esq. Scarborough interpreted the EO in plain layman's language as "issuance nonimmigrant visas - H1B, J, L, H2B categories to be suspended till Dec. 31, 2020. If you are not in the U.S.A right now and do not have a valid stamped visa or are a fresh applicant; this EO prevents getting the visa stamped and coming to the USA, unless you can convince the Government that your return is in the national interest of the USA." Although the EO memo is not defining the specs of the "national interest" perspective.
Esq. Scarborough, candidly observed that she is a veteran professional, in legit immigration serving the US communities and businesses, realistically and personally believe in America legit immigrants don't take away jobs of Americans but affirmatively contributes to protecting and increasing American job opportunities. As well asserted the H1Bs are vetted twice by USCIS and DOL that they contribute to America by all means socio-economically. However, being portrayed as Job stealers is a sad reality!
Appreciably Esq. Scarborough elaborated on the IT Service Memo as well. The complete discourse is accessible at https://www.facebook.com/groups/FOMAA.LIFE/
In conclusion Attorney Stephanie Scarborough, was gracious enough in sharing her insights on the need of the hour for the EBGC backlog community to come forward and educate fellow Americans as much as the DACA community is successfully able to convince and communicate their real-life apathy and circumstance. Esq. Stephanie also appreciated all the efforts that FOMAA L.i.F.e is doing to our community during these tough times. The conversation was retelecasted in https://indialife.tv/ which also was highly received by the community including immigration groups like "H4 and H1B Visa Holders" with close to 100K representation, "H1B Visa Community" with 30K representation and H1B Visa Community with 10K representation.
L.i.F.e is the legal immigration advocacy initiative of FOMAA, the federal umbrella organization of Malayalee associations in North America. FOMAA L.i.F.e. successfully organized bipartisan events together with eminent leaders from both Republican and Democratic parties as well as diaspora leaders. It is appreciable to note that the previous Zoom'inar hosted together with Esq. Scarborough, immediate to the onset of COVID-19 oriented uncertainties on international travel, H1B, and immigration challenges were so helpful to the many adversely affected among our diaspora
