The Empower Foundation gives funds to CFB NJ

The Empower Foundation (TEF) is a not for profit Organization founded in New Jersey. The objective of the Foundation is to give financial scholarships to young girls from less privileged homes from the state of Kerala, India.

This scholarship is being offered to girls who are embarking on their College journey. The functional structure of the Foundation includes a beneficiary, a mentor and a sponsor, with the Directors of the Foundation co ordinating all the activities.

The outbreak of COVID 19 has had a global impact on all communities. In an effort to provide assistance both in the US and in India the Empower Foundation conducted an online fundraiser by the eminent singer from India, Padmashri Dr. K.S. Chithra. The beneficiaries of this successful event were the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ), and the 86 young ladies supported by the Foundation.

On 8 th June 2020, the CEO of the Empower Foundation, Mrs. Deeta Nair a long-term resident of New Jersey along with a few of the sponsors, Ms. Vineeta Nair, Ms. Sunanda Nair, Dr. Rekha Menon and Ms. Meena Nayar handed over a check to the CEO and President of the Community Food Bank of New Jersey (CFBNJ) Mr.Carlos Rodriguez at an event coordinated by their specialevents organizer Ms. Evelyn Chiu. Ms. Karen Leies, VP of Development and Ms. Linda Lori were
present at the event too. We officially closed our fundraiser and initiated the process of providing much needed food, care, and support to those in need both in New Jersey and Kerala.

Our donation he said "will help serve 21000 meals" in NJ.
