Shivangi Maini crowned as Miss India New York

Shivangi Maini of Queens, New York was crowned as Miss India New York 2017 in the 36th Miss India New York contests hosted by Panache entertainment, in association with IFC.

1st Runner Up: Renuka Joseph from Long Island; 2nd Runner up: Inpreet Rattu of Suffolk County, New York; 3rd Runner Up: Nishigandha from Queens, Long Island.
Vinika Shikapuri from Melville, Long Island was crowned as the Miss Teen India New York 2017. The contest was in its 10th year.

1st Runner up: Simran Kohli from Hicksville, Long Island; 2nd Runner Up: Priya Aguilar Bhanot of New Hyde Park; and 3rd Runner up: Geetika Kochar from Bethpage, Long Island.

Talath Quadri from Long Island won the Mrs. India New York 2017 title.
1st Runner Up: Devinder "Devin"; 2nd Runner up: Gurpreet Kaur from Upstate, NY and 3rd Runner up: Anjali Jain from Hicksville, Long Island.

In addition to these titles, there were multiple subtitle winners in all 3 categories including best talent: Vinika Shikapuri, beautiful smile: Anjali Jain, most photogenic: Nidhi Tomar, best model: Sofia Win Aung.
This year, a new title was also crowned as Panache Brand Ambassador. The first year initiation was crowned to Sofia Win Aung.

The winners will now proceed to compete representing the state of New York, at Miss, Teen and Mrs. India Usa hosted at Royal Alberts Palace on Sunday December 17, by Neelam and Dharmatma Saran of IFC.

Glitz, glamour and galore -- all came down on Sunday December 3 in Long Island. The Event was hosted by Nishi Bahl of Panache Entertainment, and coordinated by Shilpa Jhurani.

Panache entertainment, in association with IFC, hosted the 36th Miss, 10th Teen and the 4th Mrs. India New York Pageant on Long Island, December 3.
The pageant has provided a platform and had past winners included many well achieved women, such as Bollywood actresses Richa Sharma Dutt, and Aarti Chhabria.

This year, a handful of New York's finest Miss, Youthful Teens, and Elegant Mrs took the ramp displaying the utmost qualities of beauty, grace, elegance, confidence and talent.

The event consisted of judged segments including ethnic wear, evening wear, talent, and question and answer.

Preliminary judging proceeded to include a 3 minute talent portion, which ranged from incredible talent from dancing traditional kathak pieces, to modern bollywood, and playing instruments, to expertise public speaking skills. The Best Talent was awarded to Miss Vinika Shikapuri of Melville, NY. Vinika, played the violin to the Indian National Anthem, along with performing a dual genre dance performance to the bollywood chartbuster Aisa Jadoo dala re, where she displayed her dance skills inclusive of props from jumping off the chair. She concluded her performance with a medley performing traditional Indian classical kathak to a mainstream song Don Omar - Danza Kuduro ft. Lucenzo.
The contestants took the ramp shining light and bright in their beautiful traditional ethnic wear, and glamorous and stunning evening wear.

For the Finale, each contestant was asked a question by the judges panel and judged based on how best they advocate and justify their answer to the question.

The Judges Panel included Adnan Khwaja: director of supermodel pageant Runway Princess, and event planner of AA Film Studios and Dream moulders, Sharanjit Singh Thind, Box Office and South Asian Insider founder, Nilima Madan, renowned social worker and community leader, Abhinav Madan, travel specialist and founder of The Ticket Guru, and Sunita Manjrekar, director of social services in Nassau County.

The event was emceed by the 2016 outgoing Miss India New York Riya Kaur, Miss Teen India New York Rhea Manjrekar and Mrs. India New York Nishtha Chadda.
