Madhu Valli, 20, an emerging Indian-American hip-hop artist, has been crowned as Miss India Worldwide at a pageant held at Royal Albert’s Palace, Fords, New Jersey, October 8.

Last year she had won the title of Miss India USA 2016. She is a student at George Mason University, Virginia, majoring in music and communication.
Miss India France Stephanie Madavane was the runner-up and Sangeeta Bahadur from Guyana was the second runner up.

A total of 18 contestants from different countries participated. Choreographer Sandip Soparrkar, Aman Yatan Verma and supermodel/ramp trainer Jesse Randhawa were the judges.

‘This past week has been the craziest yet happiest week of my life. Last night, I walked in as your Miss India USA but I walked out as your new Miss India Worldwide 2017 with France as my 1st Runner Up and Guyana as my 2nd Runner Up, both who I love dearly,” Valli wrote on Facebook.

‘I still can’t believe it. All that was going through my mind throughout the whole week was “USA BABY!!” I love both my countries, India and US and I always wanted to discover a way to be a leader in both! Cheers to dreams that come true and cheers to a God who loves us enough to make those dreams come true. Amen.’
