Madhya Pradesh legislators queue up to vote in presidential poll

Bhopal, July 17: Legislators queued up to cast their vote for the next President in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly premises here on Monday amid tight security.

The committee room in the legislative assembly has been made the polling centre. Many legislators were seen queuing up outside the polling centre to cast their votes.

The polling, which began at 10 a.m., will end at 5 p.m.

Ram Nath Kovind is the NDA's presidential candidate while former Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is the opposition-backed candidate.

The Congress has made its MLA Bala Bachchan the polling agent, while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has entrusted the responsibility to Minister of State for Cooperatives Vishwas Sarang.

The pass holders are being allowed to enter the assembly premises only after showing their identity card.
