Rahul added to India squad for second Test vs England
New Delhi, Nov 15: Promising batsman Lokesh Rahul was on Tuesday drafted into the India squad ahead of the second cricket Test against England, starting from November 17 at Visakhapatnam.
Rahul, who suffered a hamstring injury during the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur, made 76 in a Ranji Trophy match for Karnataka against Rajasthan and his return will boost a batting line-up which is missing Rohit Sharma down the order.
"The All India Senior Selection Committee has decided to add India batsman K.L. Rahul to the Indian squad ahead of the second Test of the Test Series - 2016 between India and England to be played at Vizag from November 17," the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said in a statement.
"Rahul has fully recovered from his right hamstring injury and would be joining the squad today," the statement added.
Rahul, who made his Test debut against Australia in 2014, has so far played nine matches and scored 562 runs including three hundreds.
