Srinagar, Oct 12: The army on Wednesday foiled an attempt by separatist guerrillas to infiltrate the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district.
Defence Ministry spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia told IANS that the incident took place at Tangdhar sector.
"A group of heavily armed terrorists was challenged by the troops, forcing them to withdraw back into Pakistan," the officer said.
He said a search operation had been launched to ensure that no terrorist managed to sneak into Jammu and Kashmir.
