Messi laments Copa America loss
Buenos Aires: Argentina's talismanic striker Lionel Messi has taken to Facebook to lament the loss in the Copa America final against Chile on Saturday.
But the 28-year-old four-time Footballer of the Year did not forget to thank the fans who supported them throughout the tournament.
"There's nothing more painful in football than losing a final. But I don't want to leave it any longer to say thank you to everyone who has always supported us and continued to during the tough moments," the Barcelona star posted on Monday.
Messi-led Argentina lost to Germany 0-1 in the World Cup final and on Saturday, the Copa America trophy was taken away from their grasp by Chile, who triumphed 4-1 on penalty shoot-out.
